US Military’s Self Steering Bullets Can Hit Moving Targets

By:Quante Huff

The U.S. Military has created a breakthrough in modern warfare. Bullets have been created so that they can actually adjust their flight path to hit moving obstacles such as a running enemy soldier.  Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has made this technology so simple to use that not only professionally trained shooters, but novices can hit their targets. This is great for American Snipers, because typically they have to shoot with strong winds and rough conditions. This technology will make snipers more accurate, thus causing less blowback from missing targets. Also, this could save more snipers' lives, because the more they shoot, the higher the risk of their position being compromised.

The video released by DARPA shows how the system uses real time optical guidance. This is a major breakthrough, because if optical guidance can be applied to a small .50 caliber round, it could also be easily applied to any larger rounds of ammunition. In the video below, it shows how the bullet changes its path. Also, it compares the shot of an expert and a novice sniper and both hit their target.

Direction for class:

  1. Read 3-D Printing Powerpoint presentation
  2. Watch the 6 videos below
  3. Take Classmarker Exam (Tuesday April 28, 2015 thru Sunday May 3, 2015 at midnight)

No matter how much information I give. You have classmates that will not follow directions

One of your classmates send this email thru the blog post email address. I decided to let it through so you can see what Professor's deal with everyday. No matter what I say in class, in the syllabus and/or in written directions, you always have students that will not listen or read.

Now how many times did I say to use Schoology to ask me to check on a grade issue? This student sent the message thru the blog post delivery email address. I will not respond to this because it is not the correct way and I do not want to be responsible for trying to track this email down, when I am working on grades in Schoology.

EMAIL
Good afternoon professor sistrunk I am emailing you regarding my grades I wanted to know if all the grades have been posted, because I see that im missing a couple of traditional class marker exams. Also I see that you just posted my blog post, I sent another one cause I felt this one was better. Last thing I wanted to know if there are going to be any extra credit assignments available.

On-Demand Bike Courier App coming to Atlanta

By: Aaron Jernigan

As society continues to grow, technological advances continue to make our lives easier. Urban Delivery is a fairly new company that launched early 2013 whose sole purpose is to provide convenience. It is an on-demand service app available to IOS and Android devices that, through GPS-tracking, allow app users to get any item that can be carried delivered their doorstop quickly. Adrienne Sheares and Morehouse graduate Ron Cade officially launched the company on June 3rd of last year in Washington DC. Due to a very strategic marketing mix and appealing to the peoples needs in a major growing city, Urban Delivery has thrived over the last year and has expanded to other cities such as New York and Boston with plans of moving to Atlanta as early as 2015.
Currently, 17 couriers can purchase items up to $150 for customers, with a minimum of 12.99.  The purchase will be subjected to a 10% processing fee in addition to 20% gratuity for couriers, which is added to the base rate. Payment for the item can be made via the app or in advance of their purchase. Whether it is dry cleaning, a special delivery of cupcakes Sprinkles, a burrito from Chipotle Mexican Grill, or simply a cold beer, Urban Delivery ensures on-demand, same-hour delivery to residents. Convenience and fast service are the main key components of the company's marketing strategy. This is very appealing in a hectic city full of businessmen and college students who may need some extra help running errands, or might need to have their lunch delivered to the office. Through the app, Urban Delivery also allows customers to see the route and how close the courier/biker is via GPS tracking. In a recent interview with Black Enterprise Magazine, co-founder Ron Cade stated "When the courier takes the order, you get the information of the biker and the biker gets your information, so you see when they get to the store—they alert you when they're at the store—and if something's wrong, or there's an extremely long line at the store, they'll call and communicate that to you."  The reason why Urban Delivery is currently thriving is because Cade put the right product in the right place, at the right price, at the right time.
The Product (service) that Urban Delivery offers satisfies one of the most important needs for a young adolescent working in a big city, time. Guaranteed convenience that can easily be accessed through your mobile phone is extremely appealing to everyone. As time goes by, the fundamental living model of human beings has been changed. With all the different inventions and discoveries throughout the years, our standard of living has been affected both mentally and physically. Technology has and continues to make our lives easier, and Urban Delivery wanted to make sure it took advantage of that. Do you believe Urban Delivery will be successful when it launches in Atlanta this summer? How frequently do you see customers using this service and which type of people should Urban Delivery target? What recommendations do you think would help Urban Delivery become more successful?

Project Fi

By: Shaquiel Dover
In today's portable world, quick and dependable network is second nature. At the same time, even in spots like the U.S., where portable associations are almost universal, there are still times when you swing to your telephone for that part second answer and don't have sufficiently quick speed. Alternately you can't get calls and writings on the grounds that you exited your telephone in a taxi (or it became mixed up in a love seat pad for the day). As cell phones consistently enhance how you associate with individuals and data, its vital that remote network and correspondence keep pace and be quick all around, simple to utilize, and open to everybody.

That is the reason today we're presenting Project Fi, a system to investigate this opportunity by presenting new thoughts through a quick and simple remote experience. Like our Nexus equipment project, Project Fi empowers us to work in close organization with driving bearers, equipment producers, and every one of you to push the limits of what's conceivable. By outlining crosswise over equipment, programming and integration, we can all the more completely investigate new courses for individuals to associate and convey. Two of the top versatile systems in the U.S.—Sprint and T-Mobile—are joining forces with us to dispatch Project Fi and now you can be a piece of the undertaking

Helping you get the most astounding quality association

Venture Fi means to put you on the best system wherever you go. As you move around, the best system for you may be a Wi-Fi hotspot or a particular 4G LTE system. We grew new innovation that issues you better scope by astutely uniting you to the quickest accessible system at your area whether its Wi-Fi or one of our two accomplice LTE systems. As you go about your day, Project Fi naturally interfaces you to more than a million free, open Wi-Fi hotspots we've checked as quick and solid. Once you're associated, we help secure your information through encryption. When you're not on Wi-Fi, we move you between whichever of our accomplice systems is conveying the quickest speed, so you get 4G LTE in more places.

Empowering simple correspondence crosswise over systems and gadgets

Venture Fi attempts to get innovation off the beaten path so you can impart through whichever system sort and gadget you're utilizing. Wherever you're associated with Wi-Fi—whether that is at home, your most loved coffeehouse or your Batcave—you can talk and content like you typically do. In the event that you leave a region of Wi-Fi scope, your call will consistently move from Wi-Fi to cell organizes so your discussion doesn't avoid a beat. We likewise need to help telephone numbers adjust to a multi-screen world. With Project Fi, your telephone number lives in the cloud, so you can talk and content with your number on pretty much any telephone, tablet or portable PC. So whenever you lose your telephone, you can stay associated utilizing another sc

Making the administration encounter as straightforward as could be allowed

Venture Fi takes a new way to deal with how you pay for remote, deal with your administration, and contact when you need help. We offer one straightforward arrangement at one cost with 24/7 backing. Here's the way it lives up to expectations: for $20 a month you get all the rudiments (talk, content, Wi-Fi tying, and universal scope in 120+ nations), and after that its a level $10 every GB for cell information while in the U.S. what's more, abroad. 1GB is $10/month, 2GB is $20/month, 3GB is $30/month, etc. Since its difficult to foresee your information utilization, you'll get acknowledgment for the full estimation of your unused information. How about we say's you run with 3GB for $30 and just utilize 1.4GB one month. You'll get $16 back, so you pay for what you utilize.

Quantum Computing

BY: Kamari Corley

Quantum computing is impacting technology in a major way. Quantum computing is storing and sharing quantum physics to process information. How a quantum computing works is that it uses quantum bits. A typical computer uses long string of bits that is able to cipher a one or a zero. A quantum computer can encode ones and zeros much faster than traditional computers because the quantum bits are using two separate quantum states. The two quantum states that are being used are superposition and entanglement. Superpostion is a term used to describe the ability that a quantum system can be simultaneously at more than one place at a time. For example, instead of having a few accountants looking through hundreds of balance sheets looking for an error, it will be faster to have hundreds of accountants looking for that one error. Entanglement is the strong correlation that quantum particles have even if the particles are separated by great distances. There a many ways quantum computing can improve the world we live in.

Quantum computing can simplify forecasting weather, medical drug discovery, and calculating best routes to take when on the road. When forecasting weather, meteorologists have to analyze temperature and pressure; which can be challenging because there is too many ways a weather pattern can form. Quantum computing can analyze all the data quickly and determine the exact locations were bad weather can be expected. When it comes to testing new medical drugs, a quantum computer will be an advantage for chemists. Chemists have to go through a complex process when developing a new drug. Chemists have to test an innumerous amount of different molecule combinations to see if they are effective against a disease. A quantum computer can rapidly test trillions of molecular combinations and identify which molecule combinations will be effective. This will save Chemist time and money.  When it comes to traveling, quantum computers can help drivers calculate the best route to take. If you are traveling somewhere and you need to make ten different stops, a quantum computer can calculate the optimal route you need to take for all ten stops simultaneously. A traditional computer will have to calculate the length of each route one at a time.

Quantum computers are not completely accessible yet, but there are a few companies that use them. D-Wave is a company that uses quantum computers. Two other companies that use quantum computers are Google and NASA. NASA uses D-Wave computer systems for research and air traffic controls. The quantum computers help NASA send robots to far-off places that would not typically be possible. As far as quantum computers selling in the computer market it could take some years, but we can expect it in the near future.
